Best protection?

The easiest and cheapest protection is covering up and seeking shade (although, UVA-those darn aging rays! are reflected, and come in through windows.)
A solid weave synthetic fabric usually provides 40-50 UPF. (that is a link to the wikipedia page on sun protective clothing) so don´t choose a straw or cotton hat...here is me in my most useful, albeit ridiculous looking, sun hat from ​Coolibar.
